Fashion Photographer London – iPhone Challenge
Can you believe it’s been 10 years since the first iPhone was introduced? In less than a decade iPhone has become not only the most popular mobile phone in history, but with estimated 160 Billion images taken last year alone, also the most popular camera ever. With many news reporters using it as the main tool of the trade, recent Apple’s advertising campaign featured on billboards around the world or front cover and entire editorial in Elle Australia shot by fashion photographer exclusively on iPhone it is fair to say it is no longer a novelty but viable commercial tool if placed in the right hands.
Part of fashion photographer’s job is observing current trends and keeping their work fresh and up to date. Partially for the above reasons and partially out of curiosity I gave myself a challenge to shoot fashion photography assignment on my trusty iPhone 7. That’s right! No fancy equipment I usually have on my commercial shoots, so no lights, no diffusers, no reflectors, no assistants but simply iPhone, model and my head full of ideas. Below are the results of our hard work. Do you think it would hold the ground on a commercial assignment? Would you use it to advertise your brand?
(Edit: No, no dedicated iPhone attachments either)
